TSG targets northwest
Reseller group makes 17th UK acquisition
Technology Services Group (TSG) has acquired Sage reseller AC Computer Services, marking its second purchase in the northwest and its 17th acquisition in total. The acquisition of the Wigan-based reseller follows hot on the heels of its first northwest acquisition of Pegasus reseller PJ Howlett.
Duncan Davies, mergers and acquisitions manager at TSG, said: “Lancashire is a sweet spot and has a huge amount of potential SME sales.”
AC Computer Services carries Sage’s Line 100 and Construct software and Davies added that the reseller will be swiftly integrated and rebranded. “It’s the Line 100 customers that we want, but selling Construct also typically involves a communications infrastructure sale as well,” he said.
James Calvert, chief executive of Regent Associates, said: “Mergers and acquisitions activity is fundamental to IT. The only way to get big quickly though, is to make large numbers of acquisitions, but companies should be aware of over-borrowing.”
