Hitachi seals Datacraft LCD deal

Hitachi Display Products Group has appointed LCD display integration specialist Datacraft

Hitachi Display Products Group, a division of Hitachi Europe, has appointed LCD display integration specialist, Datacraft, to provide third-party support to its distribution channel partners.

The vendor’s UK route to market is through its four distributors: Arrow UK, Trident, MSC and Anglia.

Great Yarmouth-based Datacraft has been working with Hitachi for five years, providing demo kits and training, but will now operate as a specialist technical consultancy. Datacraft will offer pre-sales and integration support and product training.

Mark Dalton, business development manager at Hitachi display products group, told CRN: “Datacraft has been building integrated Hitachi LCD demonstration units for several years, and has proved itself as a highly competent technical support partner with an extensive knowledge of our LCD display modules. It is able to offer advice to customers on all the hardware and software required to support our range of LCD modules.”

Dalton said the LCD market is very competitive at the moment. “There seems to be more competition from smaller players in Taiwan,” he said.

Paul Barton, director of Datacraft, said: “We have been working with Hitachi for quite a while, so we have built up a good knowledge of all its displays. Our technical expertise in design and integration means that we can help reduce the time-to-market for new products and ensure that customers get a display solution that delivers the best possible performance.”
