Rockwell hits switch with v10
New version of FirstPoint Enterprise product
Rockwell FirstPoint Contact has launched version 10 of its FirstPoint Enterprise softswitch and is looking for resellers to push the IP-enabled contact-centre product.
The vendor, which lists American Airlines, Orange, the RAC and Centrica among its customers, has claimed versi0n 10 is the industry's first enterprise- class softswitch with IP functionality. It has passed Cisco's interoperability testing and become a Cisco technology affiliate.
"We have gone from being a traditional ACD (Automatic Call Distribution) supplier for call centres to being well on the way to becoming a software firm," claimed Nick Kyte, senior manager at Rockwell. "We have direct customers, but one of the key routes to market will be through resellers."
The firm has consulted with Gartner Group and its existing customers to draw up a list of resellers to approach. The list will include Cisco resellers, Kyte said.
Ian Sherring, business development manager, call-centre solutions Cisco UK, said: "As Rockwell is a Cisco technology affiliate, we've given it access to our APIs, and it has passed our interoperability testing.
"We have our own IP telephony solutions, but Rockwell addresses a demand for third-party software on top of our infrastructure."
