IBM eyes HP's server maintenance revenue
Big Blue launches a ServicePac to allow its partners to grab HP maintenance business in the UK
IBM is hoping to cause a stir in the HP server market by launching a new ServicePac for maintenance of HP server products.
The service will be available through Big Blue’s channel partners and is aimed at products including P class blades, Proliant DL and ML servers.
The ServicePac provides pre-packaged hardware maintenance services for a one-off payment through IBM's channel network.
Phil Batchelor, IBM UK and Ireland service product line executive, said: “The IBM ServicePac is a simple, cost-effective way to purchase a range of support services and is particularly suited to those small- and medium-sized organisations that want the backing of a world-class IT services provider at a competitive price.”
