Mitek expansion leads to hunt for partners
Distributor wants to sign further 100 resellers
Components distributor Mitek is expanding its reseller private funding programme, and wants to sign an extra 100 partners after acquiring new premises.
The company, which sells exclusively through about 800 resellers, offers credit of up to £250,000 to resellers that join the scheme, which also provides accounting support and credit management.
Mitek is moving into new premises in Newcastle-under-Lyme on 1 September, which will enable it to increase the number of its partners from six to about 100 within 18 months.
Malcolm Roach, a director at the company, said: "The new premises will enable us to have large finance and sales teams, with space to store the products.
"We give partners value-added services of online centralised accounting, credit management and book collection, and are looking for resellers that are turning over between £250,000 and £1.5m per year."
Dave Hemming, technical director at reseller Elementary Computers, said: "I think the move is good for small resellers that struggle to find credit in the current economic climate, and the value-add services help reduce workloads."
