Mark Hurd considered for Oracle role
Ousted HP boss said to be up for board of directors role at Oracle
Mark Hurd: Rumoured to be joining Oracle
Former HP chief executive Mark Hurd is rumoured to be in the running to become a member of Oracle’s board of directors.
According to a report in the Financial Times over the weekend, Oracle’s board is expected to meet “within days” to vote on whether or not Hurd should be made a member.
The specific role on offer to Hurd from Oracle was not disclosed.
Hurd was forced to step down as the head of HP a month ago following an investigation of a sexual harassment claim made against him by soft porn actress Jodie Fisher.
Oracle’s chief executive Larry Ellison emerged as one of Hurd’s staunchest supporters in the wake of the scandal, claiming HP had made the worst personnel decision since Apple dismissed Steve Jobs in the mid-80s.
