PSL said it is ready to be an Internet wholesaler after revealing its reseller strategy for the Web. The distributor is also celebrating being appointed as an Informix partner.

It has also recently been made sole UK distributor of Hewlett-Packard's Unix servers. Hewlett-Packard is selling more direct but believes its plans will make resellers more loyal than ever, according to Bernd Bischoff, vice-president of HP Europe.

PSL said the combination of HP's mid-range servers and Informix' Internet database and application server software will be a key part of its drive to help resellers offer HP technology as part of its e-services initiative.

John Toal, sales and marketing director at PSL, said: "Earlier this year, PSL said its long-term strategy would include additions which complemented the HP range. Our appointment as an Informix distributor is part of this plan."

Informix also made LinuxIT a distributor. The move followed Informix' appointment of Open Computing in October, which ended Computer 2000's three-year sole ownership of the franchise.
