Promethean restructures UK and Ireland operations

UK and Ireland channel sales to education revisited and refocused

Promethean interactive classroom solutions are being pushed to the UK and Ireland education market

Education technology vendor Prometheanhas reshaped its UK and Ireland operations into three teams focusing on government, Learner Response Systems and Irish business.

Paul Berry, president of European sales and marketing at Promethean, said the new structure would help the vendor build market share through the channel.

“Since making the move to 100 per cent channel distribution, the company has continually reviewed the business model to make sure it is effective for all, and the reorganisation is part of this ongoing evaluation process,” Berry said.

“The restructure will enable Promethean to work more closely and productively with channel partners.”

Government business will be targeted by the seven-strong Strategic Programmes team, which will explore reseller opportunities within national capital investment initiatives such as Building Schools for the Future.

The Learner Response Systems division will aim to increase sales of such systems into UK and Ireland classrooms.

The department will guide and coach resellers on customer demonstrations and offer financial incentives for handset sales.

Graham Byrne will head the new Ireland division, which will aim to boost channel business in that nation.
