Troubled storage distributor sold for undisclosed sum
Storage distributor Abtec International has been sold for an undisclosed sum to new venture company Disk Source.
The Stevenage-based distributor went into administration earlier this month, but had up to six interested firms looking to make an acquisition (CRN, 10 October).
Peter Wright, managing director of Disk Source said the firm would be concentrating on the provision of storage services including Hard Disk Drive (HDD) repair, resale, data recovery, password recovery and HDD sanitising.
“We have a list of services that we are determined to promote and our focus will be growing the Disk Source name as a brand. We are feeling very confident for the future,” he said.
Steven Law, business recovery partner at accountancy firm Ensors, which was handling the administration said: “My staff and I have put in a lot of effort over the past few weeks to ensure a sale of the assets and are pleased with the outcome."
