Motorola finds cure for Var phone phobia
Motorola is recruiting corporate resellers to sell its newly launched all-in-one datacomms package, which will also sell through the retail channel.
Colin Aitken, sales and marketing director of Motorola's Communicate division, said its Easy Mobile Office pack will appeal to dealers because it offers a simple solution and demystifies the world of mobile phones for PC dealers.
'If I visit PC customers, whether they're corporate resellers or smaller dealers, many are nervous about selling mobile phones,' he said. 'We see this as a simple solution to take any risk away.'
The package will sell in two configurations, priced at u349 and u499.
The company is already talking to both Computacenter and SCC, but Aitken said he was looking to recruit additional dealers.
Motorola is expected to launch its PDA solution, which will compete with both Nokia and Hewlett Packard products, later in the year.
