DMSL bangs broadband drum
High-speed internet connections open up a wealth of opportunities to resellers, distributor claims
More resellers should be exploiting the boom in business broadband uptake to sell an array of accompanying services, according to BT broadband distributor DMSL.
The distributor reckons there is a ‘massive opportunity’ for businesses to use their new high-speed connections for more than just web access and email, with the channel set to benefit.
‘The uptake of broadband has been simply stunning over the past year,’ said DMSL managing director John Carter. ‘It’s now time for users to make more use of the bandwidth at their disposal – and this presents a fantastic opportunity for resellers.’
DMSL listed hosted email and online automated back-up and business continuity as among the add-on services resellers could provide. Businesses looking to get the most out of broadband could also use it to run hosted applications, as well as using it for voice services, DMSL pointed out.
‘All of these services help businesses to be more efficient, flexible and cost-effective and to get more out of their investment in high speed connectivity,’ said Carter.
And resellers which refuse to move with the times by embracing a services-led model will soon be in the minority, Carter asserted: ‘Let’s face it, the old model, where you bought a product, added a margin and sold it on, is dead; it is time for resellers to adopt the new business model where customers subscribe to a range of services that meets all their IT needs.’
Keen to lend a hand, DMSL is offering game resellers what it claims is a ‘highly sophisticated’ through-marketing technique to generate a high volume of qualified leads in double-quick time.
