Dascom opens UK office to push TallyGenicom range
Firm lays out its stall in the UK and Europe after rescuing TallyGenicom brand from administration
Edwardes: Poised for Dascom success after TallyGenicom sale
A new company dubbed Dascom GB has been formed to take over key TallyGenicom print ranges following Dascom’s acquisition of TallyGenicom AG and TallyGenicom Computerdrucker GmbH last week for an undisclosed sum.
TallyGenicom AG entered administration late last year. At the time, these European assets were owned by Tallygenicom LLP, a US-based company bankrolled by Arsenal Capital Partners.
The UK team will be headed by Robin Edwardes, previously executive EMEA vice president for TallyGenicom, as managing director of Dascom GB.
“We have acquired the rights to the serial printer range, and have been able to bring on board an experienced and able team of people,” he said.
The UK subsidiary will be based in Basingstoke, Hampshire, and market TallyGenicom’s full range of serial, passbook and mobile printers, rebranded as Tally or Tally Dascom, and the TG 7000 thermal printers.
The former TallyGenicom’s line matrix and laser models will be distributed via Dascom GB’s sales operation.
Dascom Group was formed in 1988 in Hong Kong and claims to be the largest serial printer maker in China and second in regional market share.
Christoph Geiger, newly appointed managing director at Dascom Europe, said: “The UK company can support and customise printer products in key vertical markets such as logistics and supply chain, retail, manufacturing, government and finance.”
Dascom is on the lookout for new offices and partner relationships worldwide.
