Mitel assembles retail therapy kit
Resellers given help to gain market share
Mitel has launched a toolkit for resellers hoping to gain market share in the retail sector.
The kit joins similar healthcare and government sector toolkits given to Mitel's channel.
"It lays out best practices from Mitel's perspective," said Angela Greaves, a retail specialist at Mitel's vertical marketing team.
"It also contains presentations for the reseller and the customer, and is supported by web seminars."
The kit will be periodically updated, and will sit beside the vendor's other pre-sales and marketing efforts.
Nathan Marke, marketing director ata VAR Prime Business Solutions, said: "Mitel realises retail is a strong vertical, and we are finding the collateral, return-on-investment tools and other parts of the kit very useful.
"We are quite strong in retail already, but this kit will be even more helpful to resellers just starting to target the retail sector or just getting into voice over IP."
Prime recently won a three-year contract with House of Fraser which will see the reseller installing telephone systems in at least 47 branches of the store. Marke said the kit had helped Prime make the sale.
Campbell Williams, Mitel's head of strategic marketing in EMEA, said the firm intends to add similar kits aimed at other verticals in the future, and will remain committed to the channel.
"This is a long-term project for Mitel," said Williams. "It is not going to be a case of us coming up with a bunch of toolkits and then dropping them. They will be improved over time."
