Probrand flies high on value
Reseller lands ICAEW accreditation
VAR Probrand has become the first UK SME to secure a ‘best value, best practice’ accreditation for its IT procurement tool – itindex.co.uk/gov – from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW).
Probrand, which recently ousted Dell from a public sector education contract using the tool, is also a Lot 1 reseller on the government’s Catalyst procurement list. The VAR claimed the accolade will cement the tool’s place as a European-wide online procurement benchmark.
The tool updates daily a list of 100,000 IT products from 1,200 suppliers listed by price and availability.
Stephen Bushell, head of new business development at Probrand, said: “Directors are being tasked with delivering value to the bottom line, especially because the biggest expense is IT. This tool helps them do that.”
Craig McLellan, accreditation scheme manager at the ICAEW, said: “The itindex.co.uk/gov has the potential to shape the future course of public sector procurement.”
