Steljes teams up with BenQ

Projection portfolio augmented as distributor broadens appeal

Wylie: DLP sales are a big chunk of projection sales

Distributor Steljes has taken on DLP projection vendor BenQ with a view to complementing its Smart Technologies education and business audiovisual range.

Graham Wylie, group product marketing director at Steljes, said DLP projector sales account for about half of the EMEA projector market this year.

“This agreement offers our reseller partners an improved opportunity to take
advantage of this market,” Wylie said.

Royce Lye, product and marketing manager at BenQ, said its new portfolio included products designed specifically for the education sector.

“Our main goal for 2010/11 is to be the DLP brand of choice for the UK’s education channel. Steljes is a recognised leading distributor of education technology in the UK,” Lye said.

BenQ’s projector range includes short-throw models suitable for wall mounting and with multiple data and video connections. Some support 3D.

According to Steljes, there is an increasing customer emphasis on the total cost of ownership of display kit.
