Veeam makes virtualisation easy
Virtualisation vendor targets HP dealers
Virtualisation management tools vendor Veeam Software has signed its first two UK distributors and claimed it can ease the virtualisation pathway for HP and Microsoft resellers.
Following its launch in September, Veeam has signed a UK agreement with distributor SCH Distribution (SCHD) and a pan-EMEA partnership with storage specialist Magirus.
In addition to Veeam’s portfolio of tools for ESX Server environments, resellers can offer Veeam’s nworks connectors, which gives customers with HP OpenView or Microsoft System Centre Operations Manager (SCOM)-based estates the ability to manage VMware from a single console.
Andy Arthur, chief operating officer at SCHD, said: “Nworks opens up new opportunities for resellers’ existing customers and for new VARs that want to move into the virtualisation space. If a business is currently using HP, the customer does not need to reconfigure their whole business.
“Resellers do not have to be virtualisation specialists, but may focus on HP OpenView instead. Veeam’s products join the two together.”
Colin Fisher, regional director for northern EMEA at Veeam Software, said: “Working with SCHD we are designing new courses for reseller accreditation enabling VARs to sell the products whether it includes HP, Microsoft or VMware opportunities.
“We are currently working on the curriculum, which should be ready by the end of the quarter.”
In a statement, Christian Magirus, executive vice president of Magirus, said Veeam is a complementary addition to the distributor’s virtualisation portfolio of eight vendors.“
This gives our resellers greater choice and the means to be the trusted virtualisation advisor to their customers by increasing confidence in their VMware estates,” he said.
