Centerprise heads down distie road
System builder pushes into distribution market
UK system builder Centerprise is continuing its aggressive drive into the distribution market with two new deals with Nissan Technology and Sweex Peripherals.
Centerprise has been appointed exclusive Master Distributor in the UK and Benelux for Nissan Technology's range of products, including LCD flat-panel monitors, LCD TVs and DVD recorders.
Nissan Technology is a spin-off from the Nissan Group. Under the terms of the deal Centerprise will deal with bulk orders directly and plans to establish an authorised reseller network to fulfil smaller orders.
Ranging in size from 14.1in to 15.4in, Nissan's LCD panels also boast the world's lightest thin film transistor (TFT) display, the 15in TFT Monitor Extra Slim Design, which weighs just 1.8kg.
Centerprise will handle the entry of Sweex into the UK market, again as Master Distributor. Sweex, already well established in Europe, supplies retail-boxed computer components and accessories.
Centerprise will market the entire Sweex Essentials range, which covers input devices, datacoms, memory, connectivity, security and sound products.
"The Sweex Essentials range of products has become renowned across Europe for its superior quality, very aggressive pricing and healthy dealer margins," said Andy Chandler, Centerprise Distribution's operations director.
Menno van der Kraan, account manager at Sweex Europe, said: "Sweex is committed to the UK market, and we have invested considerably in the project. It was important that we found a Master Distributor that had an excellent track record in the market and a sound financial base.
"Centerprise Distribution excelled in both these areas, and I am confident that together we can recreate the success seen across continental Europe and make Sweex a household name in the UK."
The new deals expand Centerprise's fast-growing distribution division, which was launched last year and which now handles products for vendors including AMD, Epox, Toshiba, Hyundai, Gainward and ATI.
At the recent CTS show in Birmingham Centerprise announced its latest partnership with peripherals giant BenQ, which will see it push the firm's Joybooks, digital displays and optical products to the UK market.
