Allied bigwigs depart

No change to channel strategy, says vendor, as two senior execs quit

Two senior executives have resigned from networking vendor Allied Telesyn, but the firm has claimed that its channel strategy will not change.

UK head Adrian Hurel and channel director Nick Ruczaj have both left the firm, saying their decisions were unrelated.

Allied Telesyn has made significant ground in the channel since former 3Com UK managing director Hurel took the reigns in 2001. Ruczaj joined 18 months ago, also from 3Com.

Hurel said that VARs should not be concerned. "We are leaving a good team behind," he said. "I reassure resellers that the strategy has not and will not change."

Julian Hubble will now be head of the UK and Ireland, and Martin Brownlie is the new channel director.

Allied Telesyn has recently signed up Ingram Micro as a distributor. Kevin Vine, Ingram's director of networking services, said: "We have only just signed with Allied Telesyn, so we were concerned.

"But the new team has visited and reassured us there will be no changes. The people have changed but the strategy is the same."
