New boss for RES Software

Workspace management vendor appoints Klaus Besier to oversee global expansion plans

Besier is “pleased” to be formalising his connection with the firm

Workspace management software vendor RES Software has appointed Klaus Besier as its new chief executive.

In the role, Besier will be responsible for overseeing the vendor's global expansion plans. His predecessor, Hans Middelburg, left the company in January to head up IT consultancy Madcap.

Besier has chaired the vendor’s board of directors since October 2009 and said he was “pleased” to be formalising his connection with the firm.

“With more than 2,500 global customers, and more than 1 million licences sold worldwide, RES has built an impressive track record and foundation for growth,” Besier said. “There is a tremendous opportunity and demand for the firm's solutions and the company expects to see significant expansion across all global markets."

Besier held the position of chief executive of enterprise contracts intelligence firm Pramata and has worked in the IT industry for over 30 years.

Bob Janssen, founder of RES Software, said he was “proud” to have an executive of Klaus’ “calibre and experience” joining the company.

He added: “[There is an] opportunity to define a new and fast-growing category in infrastructure software, in user workspace management - and we are confident that Klaus' experience will be instrumental as the company positions itself to be the top global player."

Besier’s appointment comes less than a month after the firm announced that it had grown its UK sales and channel team with the recruitment of several new additions, including former Replify boss Daniel Mee as UK channel manager.
