Oracle gobbles up mValent

Software giant expands on Enterprise Manager with applications configuration acquisition

The acquisition is expected to build upon Oracle’s Enterprise Manager

Software giant Oracle claims it can now provide partners with a single point of contact to address their application configuration management needs after snapping up vendor mValent.

As a result of the acquisition, Oracle will offer its customers the ability to collect, compare and reconcile deep-configuration information of complex machines.

After the acquisition closes, mValent training will be combined with the Oracle University.

Richard Sarwal, senior vice president of Oracle applications and systems management, said: “Effective application configuration management is increasingly important as businesses look to improve operating efficiencies.

“With the addition of mValent, Oracle expects to be able to address this need by providing customers with the ability to collect, compare and reconcile deep-configuration information of complex systems.”

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
