Desktop utility developer Mirimar Systems is looking to form partnerships with UK resellers following the launch of the latest version of its migration software.
Desktop DNA v2.5, which will be launched in the UK next month. It allows resellers to move all their customers' personal settings and configurations to a new system.
According to the company, Desktop DNA "migrates personalised Windows settings, applications and files from one PC to another, or to multiple PCs, while maintaining the user's identity".
The product can upgrade files from a lower specification system to a higher one, according to Neal Rabin, chief executive of Mirimar. For example, files on a Windows 95 system can be moved to a Windows 98 system.
Although the product is being launched in October, Mirimar does not have enough UK reseller partners.
"We are actively looking for new UK resellers with whom we can form partnerships, and we are hoping to get at least four big UK resellers by the end of the year," Rabin said.
"The product has definitely taken off in the US, and we are confident that it will do the same in the UK."
According to Rabin, the software allows resellers to perform migration for their customers much faster and at a reduced cost.
"Resellers can install the product on a larger scale, but still use the same amount of technicians," Rabin added.
Companies already using the software in the US include Procter and Gamble, Toyota and Kodak.
