Avaya overhauls global channel programme

Vendor unveils new channel strategy at Prague channel conference

Comms vendor Avaya has given its existing channel strategy a major facelift with the launch of Avaya Connect.

The vendor announced the change at its 2010 EMEA Partner Conference in Prague, claiming the new Connect programme will combine its existing channel programmes into a "globally consistent" framework that streamlines processes, pricing, training and certification requirements.

According to Avaya, the Connect programme will help resellers grow their business by expanding financial benefits, enhancing technical, marketing and sales support and offering a simplified training and certification programme.

The programme will be officially operational on 1 February 2010, to enable existing partners to transition to the new programme by February 2011.

Jeremy Butt, vice president of worldwide channels, said: “The idea is simple. By building stronger connections with our partners and enabling them to be successful, we can reach further to better serve customers.

“Avaya Connect fundamentally helps drive consideration and closure of Avaya solutions, enables our partners to engage more customers with our products and services portfolio, and provides customers with better choices to move their business forwards.”

More details from Avaya’s EMEA Partner Conference will follow later this week.
