Rocom bags Ericsson distribution rights

Distributor adds Ericsson to roster of products just a month after signing with Avaya

Distributor Rocom has scored another big-ticket contract, winning the rights to supply and support Ericsson’s voice, data and mobility applications in the UK.

The multi-million pound deal follows on from Rocom’s recent contract win with Avaya, which it said will deliver £7m in revenues over two years (CRN Online, 31 March).

The agreement means Rocom will effectively be the only UK trade distributor for Ericsson’s Enterprise portfolio. Ericsson’s MD110, Enterprise Mobility Gateway, Enterprise Media Server, MX-ONE and Business Phone are all included in the deal.

Rocom is owned by London-listed IT group AT Communications (ATC). ATC’s Servassure division will provide all ongoing maintenance for the products.

Alex Tupman, chief executive at ATC, said: “Our Rocom team is doing a fantastic job at securing major new contracts with international manufacturers such as Ericsson and Avaya.

“This success has been driven by our refocused sales strategy in tandem with infrastructure investment which has enabled the Group to scale up and secure larger business wins.”

Tupman added: “In addition, these major contract wins are a clear sign that leading system manufacturers increasingly want our 'Total Distribution' capability, which in turn will generate significant future business prospects.”
