Tivoli signs up San partners to channel

Network and systems management vendor Tivoli has revealed that a raft of San providers have joined its Team Tivoli partner scheme.

Dale Head, recently appointed marketing manager for San at Tivoli, said because of the extra enterprise data produced by the internet and email, management of Sans is becoming vital to gain a business advantage.

He predicted that the San market would increase to about $28bn by 2003.

But unlike Tivoli's competitors, Head claimed: "Tivoli's products go beyond the point release products on the market and will manage not just the data but also the polices of business."

He added that Tivoli plans to offer the technology through its direct and indirect channel as well as through IBM business partners.

Head remained cautious of when Tivoli technology will appear in IBM's Shark storage initiative, but said it could be before the end of the year.

He declined to comment on a similar announcement made recently by rival Computer Associates.
