Autodesk woos VARs with Preferred scheme

Preferred Industry Partner Programme launches with five software developers

Autodesk has launched its Preferred Industry Partner Programme, designed to strengthen the vendor’s relationship with its channel.
The programme has launched with five software developers: acadGraph, CGS, hsbCAD, Inova and RDV Systems, all of which have been awarded the Preferred Industry Partner status in the US and Europe.
Karl Osti, manager of Autodesk Developer Network (ADN) EMEA, explained: “Partners must be a member of ADN to apply for status. We then work with the partner to add value to the customer. Those who want to be a partner are coached through the programme.”
Jim Quanci, senior manager of ADN worldwide, said: “The Preferred Programme is identifying customer needs and taking it from drafting to modelling.”
One partner that achieved Preferred status is Eastern European telecom firm Inova. Maksim Sestic, chief executive of Inova, said: “This means that our end users have all the functionality and convenience of Autodesk’s software and formats without having to be specialist CAD operators.
