Direct vendor's services push
Dell aims to double services division revenue within three years
Direct vendor Dell wants to double the revenue it earns from its services division to $6bn within three years.
The division accounts for $3bn, 10 per cent of its total annual earnings.
To hit its target, Dell has beefed up its customer services centres in Dublin and Bracknell over the past 12 months.
"We want to double overall services revenues, especially double server and storage enterprise service revenues over the next three years," said Maggie Willis, customer services director for Dell UK and Ireland. "We will achieve this through organic growth and selected purchases."
Dell has already recruited Jeffrey Lynn, former Compaq head of services, and bought US professional services firm Plural.
More acquisitions may be on the way as Dell considers battling with giants such as IBM and Hewlett-Packard.
