Kodak takes on Wang Software

Kodak?s acquisition of Wang Software for a cash price of $260 million will make the company the world?s largest workflow, imaging and document management supplier.

Colin Carey, UK Head of Kodak business imaging systems (BIS), reassured Wang dealers. ?The acquisition will not affect our existing business relationships with other integrators, resellers and manufacturers,? he said.

?Wang resellers will continue to have access to the full range of Kodak imaging hardware and software products.?

Wang Software will operate as an independent Kodak subsidiary. It will retain its key management, staff, products, technology, R&D, sales and marketing operations, but it will report to Kodak?s BIS organisation.

The acquired division and Kodak BIS will have mutual access to each other?s technologies and products. The remaining Wang operation will focus on its outsourcing, integration and services business.
