Comstor unveils global business unit

Jon Pritchard to co-lead new global organisation for Cisco distributor

Comstor Worldwide has its own dedicated management infrastructure

Distributor Westcon Group has unveiled a new global business unit for its Cisco-focused Comstor arm.

'Comstor Worldwide' has its own dedicated management structure and profit and loss centre and is designed to enable local Comstor operations to draw on shared services and operational capabilities.

The unit will be headed up by Comstor executives William Corbin and Jon Pritchard.

Cisco kit generates more than half of Westcon Group’s revenues and chief executive Dean Douglas said the move would allow the distributor to “better manage growth and investments in our Cisco-oriented business”.

He added: “Having our Cisco-oriented offerings aligned in a single, global business unit will amount to an unprecedented opportunity for our resellers around the globe.”

The new organisation will also oversee the expansion of the Comstor brand into Canada and Brazil, where Westcon already has a presence through its Westcon Convergence and Westcon Security brands.

The shake up comes five months after Westcon inked a standardised global deal with Cisco to ease business across geographical borders.
