Imprivata and Honeywell get physical with channel

Firms join forces to offer combined access and authentication product to channel

Single sign-on vendor Imprivata has joined forces with security firm Honeywell to supply an integrated physical and IT access control bundle through their respective channel partners.
The bundle combines Honeywell’s Pro-Watch physical access control system with Imprivata’s OneSign Physical/Logical authentication technology. It will allow end users to grant or restrict access to physical locations, IT networks and applications based on an individual’s credentials, according to the firms.
John Lorenty, president of Honeywell Systems Group, said: “The integration gives end users greater value from their keycard and door readers.
“It works with existing network authentication infrastructure to provide a single audit trail, so it allows companies to maximise security investments.”
Chip LeBlanc, vice president of business development at Imprivata, said: “This partnership will allow both Honeywell and Imprivata partners to offer more value to their customers and prospective customers.”
LeBlanc said Imprivata, which recently revealed it had bolstered its reseller base in EMEA by 50 new partners, will be looking to partner with other vendors on a technology basis (CRN, 11 May).
“We want to build relationships with leaders in the access control technology space, to help us increase our share of the market,” he said. “The UK is a tremendous market for us and we are seeing a lot of activity, especially in the law enforcement, financial services and national and local government sectors.”
