Former Acer head honcho Paul Cook takes on commercial sales director role at distributor

Former Acer UK managing director Paul Cook is to join Bell Micro on Monday as its new commercial sales director.

Cook replaces UK country mnager Alistair Brett, who after a short handover will take on an interim European marketing assignment for Bell, before leaving the company completely. Cook will take responsibility for the etail, system builder, SME and corporate sales teams in the UK.

Graeme Watt, European president of Bell Micro, said: "I am delighted to be welcoming Paul on board. He and I have worked together in the same team in teh past. I have the utmost respect for his skills and experience and am very excited to working with him again.

"Paul will report to me responsible for continuing our initiative to build a robust sales organisation capable of injecting premium growth rates into our UK commercial sales channel. In the wider context of Europe we are building a stronger business performance and proposition by the day. To achieve our goals I am putting together the best team in European IT distribution. Paul will be a key player in our team ".

Cook said: "I am delighted to be returning to the industry that I know and love, especially with Bell Micro which not only has a unique position in the market but also has the vision, the passion and the drive to succeed.

"Moreover, I am looking forward to re engaging with many friends and acquaintances built over the last two and a half decades to firmly establish Bell Micro as the value added distributor of choice to the channel "

Watt added: "We will be sorry to see Alistair go next year and I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for all his hard work, achievements and commitment during the two years with us. At the end of the day he has goals and desires that sit outside of Bell Micro and I would personally like to wish him all the very best in realising his ambitions".
