More demand for SurfControl on-demand
Vendor rebrands its on-demand services following BlackSpider buy-out
Vendor SurfControl last week unveiled its rebranded on-demand services following its $20m acquisition of Black Spider (CRN Online, 13 July).
The vendor has also updated its own web and email filtering software. Harnish Patel, senior vice-president EMEA of SurfControl, told CRN: “On-demand services represent 20 per cent of the secure content management sector, which is predicted to rise to 40 per cent in 2009. With our rebranded service portfolio, our channel partners will have all of the products and services to address a new segment of the market.”
Patel added that, while the vendor reorganises its channel programme, VARs will be able to sell all of its products as long as they fit certain criteria.
“We have also attracted new VARs through our deal with InTechnology,” he said. “There is a massive geography out there, which we can’t cover alone, so we are always on the look-out for new VARs.”
