Real Asset Management poised to recruit resellers

Vendor aiming to add 60 Sage Line VARs to its partner ranks in 2007

Fixed asset accounting vendor and Sage development partner Real Asset Management (RAM) is aiming to add up to 60 Sage Line 50 resellers to its partner ranks in 2007.

Two years ago, RAM launched Asset 100, a scaled-down version of its fixed asset accounting software that integrates with Sage’s Line 100 and Mid Market Solution (MMS) products – neither of which feature built-in fixed asset capabilities.

Mark Johnson, sales director at RAM, said the vendor is now switching its focus from the Line 100 and MMS space to lower-end Line 50 specialists.

“Line 50 has its own fixed asset register, but when resellers are migrating customers to Line 100 and MMS there is nothing to migrate them to,” he said. “We’re offering Line 50 resellers an opportunity to migrate their existing customer base without going out of the Sage range of products.

“We have a good channel infrastructure already and can definitely cope with more VARs. I would like to get 50 or 60 by the end of this year.”

As an added sweetener, RAM has doubled channel margins with the launch of a partner programme, which also features product demonstration material and training resources.

Sage has revealed plans to launch its own asset management product that links with MMS. Darren Liddell, manager of Sage Developers Programme, said: “RAM will still be encouraged to promote its software in our advertising material.”
