Hammer nails green certification

Storage distributor bags ISO 14001 accreditation

The new certification follows Hammer's ISO 9001 QMS certification last year

Storage distributor Hammer has been awarded another ‘green’ certification to further strengthen its compliance with environmental legislation.

The ISO 14001 certification for its environmental management system (EMS) follows on from Hammer’s attainment of ISO 9001 quality management system (QMS) certification last year.

James Ward, managing director of Hammer, said: “Receiving ISO 14001 accreditation reflects our understanding of the escalating role of environmental importance; and the enhanced expectations of not only our customers, but of the industry as a whole, to respond to it.”

Hammer’s EMS is now firmly established in the company’s infrastructure, complementing its in-house environmental advice, recycling service for end-of-life equipment, and its participation in the ‘Plant a Tree’ programme.

Ann-Marie Hill, Hammer’s environmental advisor, said: “The recent investment in attaining ISO 14001 accreditation demonstrates that being ‘green’ is a key focus for Hammer.”
