Logical improvements

Cranfield School of Management (CSM) is carrying out research for reseller Logical into how IT project management can deliver business benefits more effectively.

Logical will use the research to improve its best-practice methods for designing IT projects. "This study will help us improve processes and the interaction between users and tools," said Beth Rogers, business development manager at Logical.

"As a sponsor we will get the first look at the findings before they are in the public domain. There are always ways to improve and we want to find the next possible [improvement] and make sure we are first with it. It is a contribution to improvements in IT as a whole."

Richard Ashmore, managing director of reseller Deverill, said this type of research will filter into the channel and benefit other resellers.

"[Best practices] are evolutionary. It is good to get a respected company such as CSM to look at them," he said.

Ashmore added resellers should constantly review their processes to ensure they keep up with other businesses.
