Symantec unit unveils rewards programme

Vendor's Norton Partner Rewards scheme launched to build partner loyalty

Symantec’s consumer division has unleashed a new rewards programme on the channel to encourage sales.

Known as Norton Partner Rewards, the scheme will reward each partner that has signed up to the scheme with points that can then be exchanged for a reward of their choice.

Lee Sharrock, UK sales director and head of the UK consumer programme at Symantec, said: “Thirty per cent of our $5bn turnover is from Norton. We’re looking to build loyalty with our consumer channel, particularly with our unmanaged resellers.

“This programme will allow our more diverse resellers to access marketing collateral and resources across the Norton brand, and also to accrue points that can be exchanged for gifts or business-oriented materials to further enhance their marketing.”

Sharrock added that an online portal will also allow Symantec to source important partner feedback. “It is a first step and will help us be more nimble with our channel as we move forward,” he said.

Shaune Parsons, managing director of Symantec partner ComputerWorld Wales, said: “We would look into signing up to this incentive. We are practically selling Norton-boxed products every day.”
