Creative sessions woo independent retailers

Creative Labs is looking to strengthen its relationship with independent retailers by meeting up to 800 companies to tell them about its product developments.

The meeting, which will be held in conjunction with Logitech and a third retail vendor, will bring together a large group of independent retailers and give them the chance to put their views to the three companies.

Simon Isted, retail account manager at Creative Labs, said: ?We are looking for 700 to 800 people with a high street presence and hope to find at least one more vendor to justify the time investment from retailers.?

The one-day meeting will have presentations on new products as well as give advice on the kind of price and service retailers should be looking for from distributors. There will also be a feedback session to allow dealers to put their views to the vendors.

Further meetings are planned every six months.

Richard Ganby, managing director of independent retailer Computer Cavern in Marlow, said: ?It?s about time manufacturers recognised the importance of the independents, which have been the backbone of this industry since the early 1980s.?
