Top industry players among those in attendance

Top industry movers and shakers were among the crowds that descended on Las Vegas last week for the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

The show was described as the “biggest ever” with almost 3,000 exhibitors and more than 140,000 visitors over the four days.

Highlights included Cisco chief executive John Chambers predicting in his keynote that network traffic would hit a new high by 2010 as home technology continues to advance. Dell also revealed plans to unveil a data migration service later this year that will allow PC buyers to move existing documents to a new PC.

AMD also launched a set of products under its Live Entertainment PC programme at the event, while Microsoft chose CES to showcase its Windows Home Server.
