Mobotix zooms in on new camera partners

Vendor launches official partner programme to sell feature-rich surveillance system in UK

Mobotix system: Digital IP camera requires no additional software or video recorders.

Digital IP surveillance camera vendor Mobotix has launched its first official partner programme and is looking for partners to come on board.

Established in Germany in 1999, the firm has had a presence in the UK for more than four years and distributes through Anixter, ADI Gardiner and Mayflex.

'We are growing at a rapid rate in the UK and need more partners, ideally with an understanding of networking,î said Mike Lewis, Mobotix business development manager for the UK and Ireland.

The firm's current partners range from one-man outfits to large corporates. However, some of Mobotixís biggest projects have been won by its smallest partners.

According to Lewis, comparing a Mobotix camera to a normal CCTV camera is similar to comparing a laptop to a calculator.

'We offer a complete, weatherproof digital IP camera system with megapixel images, event control and image storage management built in. No additional software or specialist video recorders are required, making it a very cost-effective total solution,' Lewis claimed.

Resellers do not have to sign up to the new Mobotix Accredited Partner Programme, but Lewis said those who do will receive better support, training and rebates.

Martin Morris, sales manager for IP physical security at Mayflex, said: ìMobotix is one of the best-kept secrets in the industry. We have been distributing Mobotix since 2005 and believe the whole IP security arena is a bubble waiting to burst.

'Mobotix cameras are very feature-rich so it can be difficult for a reseller to know the best way to sell the product. With the new partner programme we have a mechanism to train and support our resellers.'

Simon Colling, marketing director at VAR Network and Cabling Solutions, added: 'We have been selling Mobotix for more than three years. Customers are always impressed with the image quality and the other features are a bonus.'
