Varlink gets to the point with Fujitsu
Retail IT division of specialist distributor signs three-year point-of-sale hardware partnership with Fujitsu
Mike Pullon: We look forward to working with Fujitsu
EPoS Distributor, Varlink’s specialist retail IT sales division, has signed a three-year deal to become the first distribution partner for Fujitsu’s point-of-sale (PoS) retail hardware product set.
The deal covers Fujitsu’s entire range, from the entry-level TP-X II terminal to the TP-TRIO series including terminals, printers, screens and cash drawers. All terminals are able to run on both Windows and Linux operating systems.
EPoS will also distribute Fujitsu's TeamPad 700 tablet device as well as its mobile EPoS and payment terminal, the B-Pad - which is proving popular in hospitality, leisure and retail sectors.
Mike Pullon, chief executive of EPoS, said: “Over the last few months our resellers have reported a rise in the number of enquiries for POS terminals and we are looking forward to being able to supply them Fujitsu’s hardware. The products are reliable, efficient and competitive, which will enable us to continue to recruit new retail resellers.”
Earlier this month Varlink proved it was bucking the economic trend by revealing an 81 per cent profit jump for its fiscal year end 2009.
Jim Stockley, retail products group director at Fujitsu UK & Ireland said: “EPoS Distributor is the fastest growing distributor of retail products supplying the reseller market in the UK and this agreement will enable us to reach new customers in this market.
"We also feel that the level of ongoing product support which retailers receive from the resellers will enable them to use the hardware in the most efficient way to build sales.”
