Miller stands down at Trustmarque

The departure comes at the same time as rumours that the reseller is in financial difficulty

Trustmarque is a partner of Microsoft

Ross Miller has stepped aside as managing director of Trustmarque Solutions amid speculation that the reseller was struggling to hit financial targets set at the time of its management buyout (MBO).

The Microsoft partner completed a £28m MBO in August 2006 with the financial backing of Lloyds TSB Development Group (LDC). At that time the VAR set itself a £200m revenue goal to achieve by 2010.

Miller leaves Trustmarque after eight years, with rumours suggesting LDC was keen to assert managerial control at the firm.

It is thought that head of sales Lee Schofield is leaving the company in December and sales director Tim Dickens has stepped up to run the firm. Trustmarque was unavailable for comment at the time of CRN going to press.

Neil Murphy, managing director of rival Bytes Technology Group, a Microsoft large account reseller, said: “We understand that Ross is leaving the company, which is a shame, as he was a great advocate for the channel. It is a great loss.”
