Ebuyer scales down US business
e-tailer intends to focus more on its home market
Online retailer Ebuyer has confirmed that it has ‘reduced its presence’ in the US, and denied earlier rumours that it has ceased trading in the US altogether.
The firm, which has its headquarters in Howden, East Yorkshire, has around 1.2 million customers and turnover of around £220m. It claimed the move will have no impact on its UK business.
In a statement to CRN the firm said: “Ebuyer’s decision to downsize its US business is due to the high level of capital investment needed to compete within the saturated American online technology retails market.
“The company has taken the decision to channel the majority of its resources into its UK operations.”
