Zebra lifts barrier to kiosk solutions

Resellers urged to take advantage of PartnerFirst programme

Hospitals are one of the areas that could benefit from the programme.

Distributor Scansource has urged resellers that are working in the self-operating printer market to exploit a new strand of Zebra’s PartnerFirst programme.

After its acquisition of kiosk printer supplier Swecoin in 2006, Zebra launched a framework helping partners provide customers with self-operating or kiosk solutions.

Warehouses, distribution systems, hospitals and passport control checkpoints are all areas where Zebra’s kiosk printing solutions could be used, said Marion Muller, marketing manager at Scansource.

“You could pass through passport control, into the car park, and then encounter a wheel clamper. Each could be armed with Zebra’s ruggedised, highly reliable mini printers,” she said.

Becky Brookes, channel programme manager at Zebra said the kiosk printers extend the product line by providing solutions for situations where there are no staff to help. “The opportunities are huge,” she said.
