SCC goes to top of the class

Integrator wins £1.9m CRM contract with General Teaching Council

Pan-European integrator SCC has won a £1.9m contract to implement a web-enabled CRM system for the General Teaching Council for England (GTC).

The firm beat two other contenders for the contract to host and manage a system designed to make it easier for teachers to communicate with the GTC.

Scheduled to go live in March, the system will help 500,000 registered teachers share best practice and influence education standards and policy decisions.

Andrew Hill, ICT manager at the GTC, said: "We went through the usual competitive process, but SCC had the edge because it has been supporting us for the past 18 months with a desktop-managed service. It was most cost-effective to have a single supplier for all our IT support services."

Tracy Westall, UK sales director for the public sector at SCC, said: "Because of the work we had already done with the GTC, we understood the challenges it faced. Also, we host a number of other public-sector web sites so we had good references to help us secure the contract."
