Promethean stretches Maverick partnership further
Education push via specialist distribution builds on January foundations
Dean: Maverick success warrants extension of deal
Education technology vendor Promethean is extending its deal with AV specialist Maverick to include ActivClassroom sales to the former's Registered and Accredited partners.
The new agreement goes live on 1 September, and stems from the success achieved so far by the duo, according to Paul Dean, UK partner management director at Promethean.
"The distributor's dynamic infrastructure, logistical capabilities and competitive finance facilities have helped our channel partners deliver an improved service to the end user, and supported them in growing their business, " Dean said.
"Consequently, many of our partners have increased their average sale value of ActivClassroom technologies."
Maverick has masterminded the distribution of Promethean product to Registered partners since January. The new deal should facilitate enhanced support, especially day-to-day assistance.
Promethean has formed a distribution channel development team, based at its UK headquarters in Blackburn. This group will help Maverick capitalise on new sales and growth through VARs with an eye to future business development.
Resellers that migrate to Maverick will still get the ActivPartner discounts and rebates launched on 1 May, Dean said.
David Watts, managing director of Maverick, said that the distributor would now work more closely with Promethean's Accredited partners.
"Sales of ActivClassroom solutions reached over the £1m mark in July, nearly double the amount forecast," he said.
