Check Point buys Liquid Machines
Vendor jumps back into acquisition game with purchase of data protection specialist
Signed and sealed: Check Point completed the Liquid Machines acquisition today
Consolidation in the security market continues apace with Check Point the latest to hop on the acquisition bandwagon.
The Israel-based vendor has acquired data protection specialist Liquid Machines for an undisclosed sum.
US-based Liquid Machines’ products are designed to prevent the misuse, modification, loss or theft of information in documents. Check Point said its technology enables secure sharing of documents.
The acquisition closed today.
Check Point chief executive Gil Shwed said: “We’ve found Liquid Machines to provide the best technology for end-to-end data security and we are looking forward to having it as part of Check Point’s security architecture.”
The acquisition follows a rash of deals in the security arena, including Symantec’s treble buy of PGP, GuardianEdge and Verisign’s security wing.
