ONEI Solutions appoints Computer 2000
C2000 to distribute Korean LCD TV brand Atec
ONEI Solutions has appointed Computer 2000 (C2000) as its fifth UK distributor for Korean LCD TV brand Atec.
In October ONEI, which helps foreign brands establish a UK presence, told CRN it was looking for a fourth UK distributor that could propel
it into the audiovisual (AV) and retail markets, and was in talks with Westcoast, C2000 and Midwich (CRN, 2 October).
Garry Howard, sales director at ONEI, said: “We signed Westcoast at the end of November, but have since decided to take on C2000 as well. Both distributors put different packages on the table and could get us into different verticals. Westcoast has strong inroads into retail whereas C2000 is very big in the SME space.”
C2000 will begin distributing the Atec range of LCDs from 1 March, joining Enta, Interface Solutions, VIP Computers and Westcoast.
Andy Dow, commercial director at Westcoast, said: “Five distributors is not necessarily too many because it is a very large market so vendors need a wide route to market. The Atec brand has been very well accepted by our VARs; sales over the Christmas period were particularly good.”
Tracy Barrow, business development manager for AV at C2000, told CRN: “Atec is similar to Relisys and will fit the gap left by it nicely. Atec’s LCDs are entry-level prices, but with the style of mid-range products.”
ONEI told CRN it was also working on creating its own brand range of TVs, due for launch in the summer.
“It will be called the I range of LCDs and will be produced by a vendor or vendors from the Far East,” Howard said. “We are currently sampling products from various manufacturers, but hope to launch the range in August.”
