Stortext hits partner programme trail
Hosted document management vendor seeks to cash in on reduced business capex with reseller partners
Stortext has launched a partner programme designed to tempt resellers to take advantage of a ramp-up in demand for its electronic document and records management platform Omnidox.
Mark Iveson, sales director at the UK-based service provider, said the new Strategic Alliance programme is to create additional sales channels for Omnidox, which is a Microsoft-compatible document management system provided as a hosted service to end-user businesses.
“We are looking for mid-tier document or content management resellers or financial system resellers, because it is an add-on for them,” he said.
“What we have found is that about 50 per cent of our business over the past three years has come through resellers.”
Furthermore, Stortext’s current partners have been reporting greater interest in moving to a hosted system to increase efficiencies while slashing capital expenditure in the economic downturn, Iveson said.
“The likelihood of a company spending £300,000 to £400,000 up front on a document management system is not very high right now. But you can shelve that and go instead for Software-as-a-Service (SaaS),” he said.
Market penetration is still low with “tonnes” of sales opportunities in the UK and abroad, Iveson said.
The Omnidox-based service represents a charge per page on a subscription basis and is not licensed per seat. Resellers could also add further revenue through consultancy, Iveson said.
