Storactive on the hunt for more UK resellers

Data backup vendor's expansion of UK channel is a step towards global growth

Data backup vendor Storactive is looking to recruit UK resellers to support its EMEA expansion.

The vendor currently has two resellers in the UK, Solution Centre and Positive Computing, but will now recruit an additional “handful of resellers”.

John Milner, European sales director at Storactive, said it will look for less than 10 resellers.“This is our first real investment in the UK channel and we are now seeking to grow the company globally through our channel,” he said.

The vendor has two core software products, a live-backup product for desktop and laptop computers and a live-backup server product focused on Microsoft Exchange.

Storactive has created a formal partner programme that will give partners access to a portal containing a range of support services, including lead generation tools and marketing development funds.

The vendor’s “sweet spot” is in the 50 to 1,000 user space. Storactive also operates in a number of verticals, including consultancy and accountancy.

“We have no interest in direct sales in the UK and are 100 per cent channel focused. The value to our partners is that we sell a complete solution, but there is also the opportunity for some professional services too.

“Things have to be done within our own limitations so we want a limited number of channel partners to start with and to be proactive with,” added Milner.

Julian Lewis, managing director of Positive Computing, said that it was one of the first 10 partners to join Storactive.

“The mobile workforce will be key to us and will generate multiple sales opportunities. Storactive also has some good services opportunities and we will look to deploy into managed offices,” he said.
