Wright?s move hits CU for six
The management at Macintosh distributor Computers Unlimited (CU) was further shaken last week when Neil Wright resigned as business group manager to join rival IMC.
Wright is the sixth manager to quit the distributor in just over five months. After nearly four years at CU he said there was more opportunity at IMC and was attracted by the company?s philosophy.
?It was too good an opportunity to miss. IMC is smaller in terms of staff but it is growing quickly. It means I am in a more senior position at the beginning of something big. It?s perhaps where CU was two years ago,? he said.
Wright follows in the footsteps of business development director Nick Collingridge and business group manager Dan Shillum, who both resigned in November; sales director Dave Elliott, who left at the end of January; and sales manager Kevin Lamb and Peter Martin, head of operations, both of whom left last month.
Justin Anderson, CU marketing director, claimed the departures were not linked. He maintained that the distributor was building an organisation that was capable of handling the changes in the market. The distributor is now in the throes of completing a restructure.
