Newly combined company boasts 13,000 resellers and 17,000 customers worldwide
Secure Computing has completed its acquisition of CyberGuard after the move gained support from both sets of shareholders this week.
The firm signed a definitive agreement in September to acquire the appliance vendor for $295m.
As a result CyberGuard will be merged into Secure Computing. The merger creates a security firm with 17,000 customers and 1,300 resellers worldwide with distribution channels extending across more than 100 countries.
John McNulty, chief executive of Secure Computing said: "By combining the two companies, Secure Computing is the new market leader in the Unified Threat Management (UTM) market. It also accelerates our position in the Secure Content Management (SCM) market."
